This website was created with the aid of a grant from the Wolfson Foundation and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Additional funding was secured from the Newton Heritage Action Group.
The site was part of a project whose aims were:
- The creation of a specialised history section within the library.
- A local history web site for use by children and others within the community, to help with studies at school and on a personal level.
- Promoting to the community the developments and value of local history within Newton-le-Willows through IT and printed materials.
The team which managed the project and compiled the web site was comprised of staff from the St.Helens Library and Information Service:
